The Liturgy Commission is made up of the various ministries that make each Mass a special experience. This commission discerns themes and plans for liturgies for the liturgical seasons of the year (for example, Christmas and Easter). We strive for the full and active participation of the congregation in the various liturgical celebrations. The goal is to capture the senses to make all liturgies truly a celebration of faith, and community fellowship.
The ministries include:
- Art and Environment
- Eucharistic Ministers
- Lectors
- Hospitality Ministers / Ushers
- Altar Servers
- Sacristans
- Music Ministry
- Liturgical Planning
- Eucharistic Adoration
- Special Services
- Altar Society
Altar Servers
“When you take part in the Liturgy by carrying out your altar service, you offer a witness to all. Your absorption, the devotion that wells up from your heart and is expressed in gestures, in song, in the responses: if you do it correctly and not absent–mindedly, then in a certain way your witness is one that moves people.” — Pope Benedict XVI addressing altar servers on August 2, 2006.
Serving at the table of the Lord is an important and wonderful way that people young and old can assist in the Eucharist – the source and summit of our lives as Christians. When done with reverence, respect, and attention, as the Pope suggests, this can be a wonderful service to our faith community and indeed an act of love that draws the server closer to God.

Music Ministry
The mission of the Music Ministry is to help the assembly to express, share, nourish and strengthen their faith by providing music that helps to create an uplifting, prayerful worship experience.
We are all called to serve in God's name with the talents He has given us. The holy music ministry of St. Joseph Catholic Church – Honey Creek grants us a great opportunity to share our gifts of music through this dynamic and growing ministry! Vocalists and musicians of varying talents generously offer their time as a gift of service that enhances the liturgy for the worshipping assembly. Liturgical music joyfully performed encourages active participation of the entire assembly praising God and bringing His Word to life. Please reflect prayerfully as to whether you can join us in this holy celebration of our Lord and remember, you don't choose a ministry – it calls to you.
Do you have any special requests or suggestions for our St. Joseph Music Ministry? Please contact Rick Ramirez with any ideas you may have to improve our worship and praise through song!
