Parish Update - June 3, 2020

Thank you all for making your reservations for the weekend Mass. These reservations allow us to ensure the social distancing required for everyone’s safety. The online reservation form is available every Monday, so please preregister each week. If difficulties arise, please call the parish office for assistance.

We also thank you for following the required guidelines for all Mass attendees.
· Wash hands thoroughly before coming to the Church.
· Everyone aged 10 and over must wear a face mask before entering the Church and throughout the Mass.
· Always maintain 6 feet between you and others.
· Follow the instructions of the ushers as you enter and leave the Church.
· There will be NO congregating in the gathering space at any time.
· Communion will be given in the hand only.

As a reminder, the dispensation of all Catholics from the obligation to participate in the Mass on Sundays remains in effect until repealed.
We highly encourage those who are vulnerable, such as people with underlying medical conditions to continue to participate in Mass via live stream. The Sunday Mass is live streamed at 10am weekly and can be found here https://stjoseph-honeycreek.org/mass-live-stream

Parish Update - May 15, 2020

Dear Parishioners,
It is with great joy that we are preparing to reopen St. Joseph-Honey Creek to the public for Mass. The PUBLIC daily Mass will begin on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 in the Main Church following the directives and regulations set forth by the Archdiocese. We will resume our regular Daily Mass schedule:
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8 am
Monday, Wednesday 7pm

In addition, Sunday liturgy will resume beginning the weekend of the Feast of The Ascension of the Lord, May 23-24, 2020.
We appreciate your patience as we fine tune the procedures under the recommendations of the health authorities and the Archdiocese. Everyone attending Weekend Mass will need to make a reservation, please see home page for reservation link. Please note, Archbishop Gustavo’s dispensation of all Catholics from the obligation to participate in the Mass on Sundays remains in effect until repealed.

As this time, we ask you to read the following guidelines for all mass attendance to ensure the safety and well-being of all parishioners of St. Joseph Honey Creek.
First and foremost, if you are feeling ill, please stay safe at home. We highly encourage those who are vulnerable, such as the elderly and people with underlying medical conditions to continue to participate in Mass via live stream: find details here www.archsa.org/covid-19#livestreams.

Guidelines for Mass Attendees

Parish Update / COVID-19 - May 1, 2020

We want to update you regarding events at St. Joseph-Honey Creek.
At this time the Decree set forth by Archbishop Gustavo regarding changes impacting parishes in the Archdiocese of San Antonio due to COVID-19 is still in effect until May 18. The Archbishop will be consulting with his staff, and health & civic authorities prior to resumption of the celebration of public liturgies and other activities. When changes occur, we will update you via email and on our website at https://stjoseph-honeycreek.org/.
While we have been working on a modified Parish schedule, we want to let you know we are here for you. We have implemented several ways for you to continue your spiritual journey. Daily live streaming of Mass, Day Chapel availability, social media postings, video conferencing and office staffing, are some of the ways we are here. All phone calls to the parish office are carefully monitored and if you need immediate assistance you may call 210-288-4245. If you would like to schedule a confession,or just speak privately with Fr. Francis about your struggles, concerns, or need special prayers please call 210-416-4516.
As we continue the work of St. Joseph-Honey Creek we must address the financial commitments of the Parish. Please be assured that we have modified our budget so that we are only allocating for essential items. For us to meet our commitments, we graciously ask for your continued tithing. You can do this by using the Parish online system at https://stjoseph-honeycreek.weshareonline.org/, by mailing in your contribution, or by dropping it off at the Parish office. Whatever method you choose, be certain that our Parish is very thankful. If you are unable to contribute at this time because of financial hardship, we pray that any adversity will be lifted from you soon.

Lastly, please be aware that Fr. Francis email has been compromised. If you receive an email from him requesting a favor, gift cards, or money, please DO NOT respond. Fr. Francis will never email or text you to solicit money.

COVID-19 Update - April 9, 2020

Friends,
We have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and continue to observe the recommendations set forth by the Archdiocese and the federal, state, and local officials. Our first priority is the safety of our entire parish family. Public health officials continue to advise social distancing, therefore we will temporarily close the parish office until further notice. All calls to parish office will be closely monitored, and if you need immediate assistance please call 210-288-4245. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your support and understanding of this decision.
For now, the Day Chapel will remain open daily from 8:00 a.m.-6:00 pm. We ask all to please be mindful of the 10 person limit while visiting the Day Chapel.

Holy Week Service times are as follows:
Holy Thursday, April 9 - 6:30 p.m.

Families in need of picking up a First Communion Preparation packet may now pick them up in the Day chapel. They are at the entryway of the Day chapel and labeled by class meeting time.

COVID-19 Update - March 31, 2020

Following the advice of the federal, state, and local officials we have cancelled all activities at St. Joseph Honey Creek until further notice. Because of this, we are unable to offer public Masses at the parish. We would however, like to remind you that our daily mass is available for viewing via Facebook, and posted on this website on the HOMILY link of the Home Page or directly at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDl6XMt4Rk9MNdWsWVlj32w. Our parish Day Chapel is open daily, Monday through Sunday, from 8:00 a.m.-6:00 -p.m. for quiet prayer and reflection. Confessions may be scheduled individually by calling 210-416-4516 for an appointment.
We would also like to update you on the status of Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter, as it will change this year because of the current health emergency. All services will be live streamed, and service times are as follows:
Palm Sunday, April 5 - 11:00 a.m.
Holy Thursday, April 9 - 6:30 p.m.
Good Friday, April 10 - 3:00 p.m.
Holy Saturday (Easter Vigil), April 11 - 6:30 p.m.
Easter Sunday, April 12 - 11:00 a.m.

The Easter Triduum (the Mass of the Lord's supper, Liturgy of Good Friday and Easter Vigil) will be live streamed on social media, and we will also have a link available on our parish website. The Palms will be available for pick up in the Day Chapel after they are blessed. We will do our best to keep you updated with the most current information as we receive it.

COVID-19 Update - UPDATE March 23, 2020

During these uncertain times, we want you to know there is a plan in place that will provide for the spiritual needs of our community, as well as the continuation of operations for our Parish. Online Masses, video conferencing, web site and Facebook postings and Adoration in the Chapel. Difficult decisions have been made, and out of an abundance of concern we have now canceled the Daily Mass in addition to the weekend Mass.
Effective Monday March 23, we will have Eucharistic Adoration in the Day Chapel on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 8am – 6pm. The Day Chapel will also be open the rest of the week including Saturday and Sunday from 8am – 6pm for private prayer. Confessions are available by appointment, please call 210-416-4516 for assistance. We plan to have a daily recorded Mass available to you beginning Monday, March 23. Lastly, please note our temporary parish office hours of Monday – Friday, 8am- 2pm

COVID-19 Update - UPDATE March 16, 2020

Dear St. Joseph Honey Creek Families,

We thank you for your prayers, patience, and understanding. These are difficult times and the well-being of our entire community is at the forefront of our thinking.

During the month of MARCH:

  • All weekend Masses are cancelled
  • All Stations of the Cross are canceled
  • All Fish Frys are canceled
  • All Faith Formation classes (Preschool-adult) are canceled
  • The evening Mass for the Feast Day of St. Joseph on March 19 will be canceled.
  • All non-essential Ministry meetings are canceled.
  • The Parish Reconciliation Service on April 2 will be canceled.

At this time, the following is available:

  • Eucharistic Adoration will continue as scheduled in the Day Chapel on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
  • Daily Mass will continue, but will be moved to the Main Church at 8:00 a.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; and at 7:00 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
  • The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available BEFORE Daily Mass in the Main Church: Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays from 7:00 a.m.-7:45a.m. and on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m.-6:45 p.m.

More information regarding event cancellations will be provided as it becomes available.

We also respectfully ask all our parish family to continue tithing by using the on-line giving website at https://stjoseph-honeycreek.weshareonline.org/ws/opportunities/SundayOffertory/donate?fbclid=IwAR2rjpuT3TfnfPFqnTXpXl1VZrGxoriK5Q7nSF5bAJe-eJtVQ8LZvK9auJ8. In the absence of full and active and conscious participation in the Eucharist, I encourage all of you to make a Spiritual Communion today and in the weekends that lie ahead.

Dear St. Joseph-Honey Creek Families,

Due to the information regarding the control and prevention of COVID-19, Archbishop Gustavo has sent forth the following information in the attached Decree:

The Sunday Mass obligation is hereby dispensed for all Catholics effective immediately. Public weekend Masses in parishes and other chapels shall be suspended starting this weekend of March 14-15, 2020.

Archbishop Gustavo will make a determination with archdiocesan leadership, health officials and civil authorities regarding extending any of the above by March 31, 2020.

At this time, Daily Mass and Adoration will continue as scheduled at St. Joseph.

Please also be advised that out of concern for the health and safety of our parish families, all Faith Formation Classes (preschool through adult) are canceled through March 31, 2020. We will update all concerns as new information is available from the Archdiocese.
