A message from our Pastor...

7/21/2021 Dear Parishioners,
Yesterday evening we had a combined meeting with the Finance Council, the Pastoral Council and Patrick Coleman from the Archdiocese. In this meeting we had important discussions regarding future projects for our parish. Going back to Vision 2020 we discussed the possibility and reality of building our Family Life Center. Our hopes are to cater to our parishioners’ spiritual and personal needs by providing increased meeting space for ministry services.
I hope to organize listening sessions in the next few months about this project. I am asking you to guide me on what we need for our future in this parish. I am open to your thoughts and recommendations. I especially invite those who are new to our parish an input opportunity. More to come on these listening sessions to be scheduled in October, November, and December.
Tomorrow evening we will have our first Festival meeting for the 2021 Honey Creek Festival. If you or someone you know would like to get involved please join us in the Parish Hall at 6:30 pm on Thursday July 22, 2021.
I wish to thank you again for your continued good habits of washing hands and self-sanitizing. We will do a complete cleaning and sanitizing of the church every week in preparation for the weekend Mass.
Lastly, we thank you for your patience with the ongoing construction of our Education Building. God willing, we will be ready to open the doors in September.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Francis McHugh

Estimados Feligreses,

Dearest Parishioners,
Our gradual return to normalcy within our parish is so welcome and very promising. With this in mind, effective immediately, we will no longer be sanitizing the church after each Mass or at other events on campus. I would like to encourage you to continue with good healthy habits of washing and self-sanitizing.

With our parish life and ministries returning we are now in need of new leaderships. The Bereavement Ministry has always been an important way to ease the burden on the family by helping with the reception after a funeral. We wish to formally thank Don and Janie Kellner for their many years with this ministry. We are now in need of a new set of persons to come forward to lead this important group. We thank Jim and Jayne Turnipseede and the many others that are currently members in this ministry. Please call parish office with questions.

Also, looking to the future we would like to seek some sponsors for a few projects. First, a ZOOM Meeting room that will be available to all ministries. This is the wave of the future and we would like to begin to set this up soon, therefore we are in search of sponsors for the necessary technology to get this started. Please call parish office with questions about this project.

The second sponsor we are in search of is for our annual Parish Festival. This year we would like to continue with the Truck raffle. This was immensely successful under our previous leadership with Doug and Angela Heimer, and we thank them for their hard work these last 2 years as festival leads. The Knights of Columbus have agreed to help plan this year’s Festival, and we are so grateful to be able to begin the planning for what we hope will be our biggest festival yet. This year we hope to get a sponsor to help purchase the truck. This sponsorship would greatly help us alleviate any financial burden for the church. If you are interested in helping as a sponsor with this purchase, helping with festival planning, or have any questions about this year’s festival please email koc@stjhc.church .

Lastly, I would like to again invite and welcome everyone back to Mass and to their ministries. We ask you to pray on how you can give back to your parish family with your time, talent, and/or treasure. We know that for many adults, college students and other young people, the pandemic has caused a bit of set back with regards to their parish life. We ask all families to encourage each other to get involved, reach out and meet your fellow parishioners, share your faith and your love of our Lord with everyone you know. A great recharge for fellowship and spiritual strength is through the ACTS movement. We hope you will consider signing up for the next ACTS retreat available to you for either men, women, or teens.

I thank you for all the prayers, love, and support you have shown me as I recover from my recent back surgery. I ask for your continued prayers for our Lords protection and abundant mercy. Amen.
