More Festival News

"The harvest is plenty, the laborers are few." Won't you please share your time and talent by participating in our upcoming Honey Creek Festival? This is the largest fundraiser for our St. Joseph community and EVERYONE is needed so that it will truly benefit all of our ministries and those we serve!!
Opportunities for all...can you help with any of the following?

August 15 - Landscaping/Church grounds clean up (7:00am)
August 26 - Kitchen prep (9:00am)
August 29 - Church grounds, Dining Hall and Booth prep day (7:30am)
September 5 - Potato Peeling (6:30am)
September 5 - Final Festival set up (7:30am)
September 6 - FESTIVAL!!
September 7 - Post Festival Cleanup (7:30am) and Mass of Thanksgiving (9:00am)

ADOPT A BOOTH: Kitchen, Dining Hall, Rummage Sale, Bingo, and Kids Games are just a few areas always in need of volunteers. Groups such as Neighborhood nets, ministries, and families are invited to "Adopt" a booth. More than one group or ministry can "adopt" a booth and share the time. CHAIRPERSON OR MINISTRY FOR KIDS GAMES: Love to hear children's laughter or are "young at heart"? We are in need of a Chairperson and/or Ministry to coordinate games in our children's area. Please contact Jackie Baer at:

FACE PAINTING BOOTH: Do you love to draw and paint? Artists are needed for the face painting booth. If you love to see the smiles on little kids and "big" kids alike when you give them all the glamour and glitter they can imagine, come and share your time and artistic talent! Please contact THERESA LOPEZ at to volunteer.

AUCTION ITEMS: Donations for Live and Silent Auction items are being accepted. Some ideas for donations: New, unused items; tickets for entertainment, vacations, hunting or fishing trips;, electronics, outdoor items such as grilles, lawn furniture, just to name a few. Cash donations are also appreciated to purchase Auction items.

Live and Silent Auction donation deadline is August 25 to allow time to list items and print brochures, etc. To donate to the Live or Silent Auctions, please contact Jim or Jayne Turnipseede at or 830-438-7759 (home) and 832-754-5319 (cell), or the Parish Office at 830-980-2268.

COUNTRY STORE BOOTH: The Catholic Daughters are collecting donations for the Country Store Booth after all the weekend Masses in August. Please donate non-expired, non-perishable small items such as homemade foods, lunch box snacks, school supplies, travel size toiletries, small books, etc. The collection boxes will be near the two main entrances to the church. ARTS & CRAFTS GUILD FESTIVAL RAFFLE: The Guild will be selling raffle tickets Saturday, August 22 &29 from 4:30pm to 6:45pm, and Sunday August 23 & 30 from 7:30am to 6:45pm. Tickets will also be available at the festival. Tickets are 1 for $1.00 or 6 for $5.00. All prizes will be displayed at ticket sales in August and at the festival. Prizes will be awarded at the festival.

"GO GREEN" FOR THE RUMMAGE/RECYCLING SALE: "Going green" will give you an opportunity to de-clutter and recycle a few usable items from your home, office or garage as well as the opportunity for you to support and help others in our community! Donations that are "new or gently used" are greatly appreciated! Few examples are:
- Books, toys, school supplies
- Clean household items for kitchen, bed & bath
- Office items, sports equipment, luggage, tools
- Also cardboard boxes & paper bags appreciated to help with sorting & sale of items

Saturday's, August (8, 15, 22, & 29) 9:00am to 1:00pm
Sunday's, August (9, 16, 23, & 30) 9:00am to 1:00pm
