We are about to launch a program to help our immigrants currently being served through our Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) to learn the English language. Beyond feeding the hungry, one of the best ways to help people break the cycle of poverty is to teach them to read and write English. We are already blessed to have parishioners who will conduct the training. Some moth-ers wishing to attend the classes will not be able to do so unless they have child care. Will you help so they these mothers can aspire to improve their lives? The classes will be every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to noon starting January 26. Weekday classes will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. on either the Wednesday or Thursday of SVDP food distribution. For example in January classes will be on January 22 and 30, and in February classes will be on the 5, 19, and 27. All classes will be conducted in the Education Building. Please contact Deacon Ken if you can help in any way at 830-377-8163.
