Catechesis of the Good Shepherd- Wish List

Children have a natural tendency of falling in love with scripture and liturgy when presented with materials appropriate to their needs. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori based approach to the religious formation of children that is based on this premise - there already exists a deep and unique bond between God and the child.
We meet each week in the "atrium," or specially prepared room which is more like a retreat center than a classroom. There, our goal is to foster and deepen the child's relationship with God, to encourage the formation of a personal prayer life, to help the child participate more fully in the liturgical and sacramental life of the Church, and to develop a deeper understanding of Catholic identity and tradition.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd will be available beginning September 17, 2017 at St. Joseph for children ages 3 to 5. For more information, to register, or to come and observe please contact Beate Buescher at (210) 889-9869 or
